What Did My Best Friend Get For Her Birthday???

This is what was in my best friend received for her birthday - everything was from Etsy :)

This handbag in her favorite color was from bayanhippo's shop

This coin purse is very similar to the one my friend got, expect hers had a cute hedgehog instead of the bird. It was from kailochic's shop

This gorgeous recycled tshirt carnation flower pin was so cute I got myself one too :) I love the way that it was packaged on a recycled piece of cardboard. This was from Marang97's shop on Etsy

Finally this little soy Basil scented candle was from miltonandmargie's shop on Etsy

My newest Etsy Purchase

My latest purchase was for my pup!

I love to support other artists on Etsy and my latest purchase was from PecanPiePuppies - See this wonderful shop for cute dog collars. I bought this Preppy Peony and Seersucker collar for my little priss and it fit her perfectly. Ryan even customized the collar for me using pink seersucker. I highly recommend this shop if you want to spoil your pooch!

Dogwood Feature

One of my favorite flowers is a dogwood - we have three white ones in our front yard. I am slowly turning our front yard into a "moongarden" . If you don't know what that is - it's basically a garden of white flowers that glows in the evening. I love the look of white flowers with purple, green and yellow foliage. Here are some of my favorite dogwood items on Etsy...
I love this dogwood sugar and creamer set by Whitney Smith - the simple clean lines and pretty blue glaze make this a wonderful gift. What a wonderful gift for a wedding!
Another favorite is this pretty garland by Middleburg - this 6 foot hand painted and dyed garland would look so pretty on a mantel for spring

This handmade dogwood pendant by Amieplante is so lovely. This piece has a beautiful pantina!

Don't these look delicious! These cookies by WhippedBakeShop look so yummy!

Finally this 6" x 6" photo titled "Blossoms in Blue" by 3LambsDesign has the most beautiful colors! I love the saturated blue color that makes dogwood stand out.

Treasuries for Wednesday April 22, 2009

So I was totally inspired by the Wilco show last night. Went up to Asheville, NC to see them play with my husband and cousin. Their live performance was really great - one of the best I've seen so this morning I made a treasury that was inspired by their lyrics:
The first line is inspired by "Sky Blue Sky"
With a sky blue sky
This rotten time
Wouldn't seem so bad to me know
The second line is inspired by "Either Way"
Maybe the sun will shine today
The clouds will roll away
Maybe I won't be so afraid
I will understand everything has its plan either way
The third line is inspired by "On and On"
On and on and on we'll stay together yeah
On and on and on we'll be together yeah
The fourth line is inspired by "Hate it Here"
I hate it here
When you're gone
I try to stay busy
I take out the trash, I sweep the floor
Try to keep myself occupied
Cause I know you don’t live here anymore

This treasury entitled Sunshine was created by anakim and she featured my lilac and green rose necklace. See her shop for some beautiful pieces

This gorgeous "Pink" treasury was created by bayanhippo and she included my pink rose and pearl necklace :) Be sure to see her shop she has lots of new spring and summer colors and patterns in stock.

I'm on the Front Page of My Handmade Registry

This is so exciting - I received a convo that let me know I made the front page of My Handmade Registry. If you are not familar it is a really fun website that lets you currate a wish list of things that are handmade. Once you finish your friends and family can see what is on your list. This is really a great idea - a registry just for handmade items!

Etsy featured this webpage in a Storque article just last week. I'm going to have to get busy making myself a list too and would encourage you to do the same. It's great to support other artists that create handmade items!
This wish list below was created by Michelle at http://www.lilypotdesigns.etsy.com/ and I'm honored she choose my Swarovski Green Briolette and Oxidized Sterling Earrings!
